Valentine’s Day is an extremely special time. Love is being spread and engagement announcements seem to fill your news feed. If you’re planning for a proposal, here’s how to get started to ensure a breathtaking surprise!
CHOOSE THE PERFECT RING
From three-stone to solitaire, and every decision in-between. Choosing the perfect ring can be extremely stressful. The best place to get started? Her social feed! Check to see if she has a Pinterest board tailored to engagement rings. Once you know the basic style she’s hoping for, her friends and family may be able to give you the finer details.
SIZE IT CORRECTLY
While this is an important step, try not to stress over it too much. Most engagement rings can be resized and many jewelers will do it for little to no cost. But, if you are looking to get her size, there are easy ways to do so. If she wears any type of fashion ring, you’re in luck! As long as you know which finger she wears it on, a jeweler should be able to estimate the size. Another great way is to ask for her ring size, but amaze her with a dazzling right-hand ring. The surprise won’t be ruined, and you’ll score major brownie points!
HIDE THE RING
If you’re committed to keeping it a surprise, don’t overlook the hiding spot. Look for secrete nooks or places she doesn’t go around the house. If you can’t find a solid spot, keep it with a family member you trust until the moment is right.
PLAN THE SURPRISE
Scout the perfect spot and remember to expect the unexpected. You can plan your speech down to the last word, but once you’re in the moment, things may not go exactly as planned. The only thing that matters is the new adventure you’ll be embarking on, together.
