How to Style Sapphires
September 5th, 2017 / Alese Oldenburg
Summer’s coming to an end, and that leaves us feeling blue. Like sapphires, that is! Sapphires are the birthstone of September, but we think everyone should rock sapphires—not just the Virgos and Libras among us.
Sapphires are traditionally associated with royalty and romance. We’re on board with that! Putting on sapphires definitely makes us feel like queens. Sapphires are also associated with nobility, truth and faithfulness. That makes them a thoughtful gift if you do have a September-born special someone in your life (hint, hint!).
These are our favorite ways to style sapphires.
The Main Event
Show off your sapphire with a bold statement-making ring. Our recommendation? Choose a halo style. The bright shimmer of Nexus Diamond alternatives highlights the deep blue of the sapphire. A ring with a sapphire center stone is a gorgeous choice for a unique engagement ring with a royal influence. Or wear it on your right hand as a cocktail ring that’ll make everyone in the room jealous.

Subtle Sapphires
As with many good things, a little can go a long way with sapphires. We love how the deep blue contrasts against the sparkle of Nexus Diamond alternatives. This subtler look is versatile, because it is easily dressed up or down. For a slightly bolder look, choose a warm tone metal like yellow or rose gold to create even more contrast between the Nexus stones, the sapphires and the metal.

Casual Neutrals
Navy is our favorite neutral, and our deep blue sapphires fit the bill. Sapphire studs will go with almost any outfit as a different take on a jewelry box classic. Same goes for a simple sapphire pendant. Like a favorite blazer or pair of jeans, we reach for your sapphire staples every day. Put them on to add instant flair and spunk.
