Jewelry Storage Secrets

Did you know that sterling silver should be stored in the dark? Or that gold should be kept out of the humidity? With our storage secrets and tips, you’ll keep your jewelry shining.
Store in a Cool, Dry Place
You’ll want to keep your jewelry out of the light and open air when you’re not wearing it. This protects jewelry from humidity and direct light, which will help prevent tarnishing and wear. Jewelry boxes or organizers for in a drawer or closet work wonderfully.
Keep It Separate
You should store each piece of jewelry separately from each other to prevent scratching or other damage. Soft pouches work well, or lined boxes with individual compartments can keep your jewelry organized.
Get a Jewelry Dish
If you have a few pieces that you wear daily—your engagement ring or wedding band, special earrings, and so on—a jewelry dish will come in handy. It provides a cute, safe place to put your jewelry when you need to remove it, such as when handling cleaning chemicals or while taking a shower.
Tips for Traveling
The last thing you want when traveling is to open your bag and find a mess of tangled necklaces or jewelry. Keep your necklaces straight by threading them threw drinking straws and clasping them shut. Store each piece in a small, separate cloth pouch and then travel with all of the pouches tucked together in a clear zip-top baggie. Do you have any other storage tips or tricks?
